These Terms govern your use of WalkAway, an offline-first mobile alarm application developed by CoreByte Studio. By downloading, installing, or using WalkAway, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be legally able to accept these Terms where you live. If you use WalkAway for or on behalf of another person, you are responsible for having authority to do so.

WalkAway schedules alarms and lets you configure QR-code, NFC-tag, saved-object, movement, or spoken-phrase challenges before dismissal. Depending on your settings, it also provides snooze controls, gradual volume, Strict Mode options, wake confirmation, local alarm history, and QR-code sharing. Features may differ by device, operating-system version, hardware, and permissions.

Relevant features require permissions and system capabilities, including notifications/alarms, camera, microphone, speech recognition, and NFC. You decide whether to grant them and may revoke them in system settings. A challenge may not work if its required permission or hardware is unavailable.

You are responsible for keeping the device powered, charged, audible, updated, and appropriately configured, and for testing each alarm and challenge before relying on it. Focus modes, silent settings, volume, battery restrictions, restarts, force-quitting, system updates, permission changes, and manufacturer behavior may affect delivery.

WalkAway is a helpful wake-up tool, not an emergency, medical, life-safety, or guaranteed notification system. We cannot guarantee that an alarm will ring at a precise time, at a particular volume, or at all. Use an independent backup for flights, examinations, medication, childcare, work, safety-critical duties, or any event where a missed alarm could cause harm or irreversible loss.

QR and NFC identifiers can become damaged or inaccessible. Object matching and movement estimation may be affected by lighting, camera angle, clothing, surroundings, device performance, or changes to the enrolled object. Speech matching may be affected by noise, pronunciation, language support, connectivity used by the operating-system speech service, or recognition availability. False matches and rejected valid attempts are possible.

Emergency-stop and recovery behavior exists for safety and access. Strict Mode may hide or restrict some bypass controls but does not make alarm delivery or challenge verification infallible.

• Place QR codes, NFC tags, and target objects somewhere stable, legal, well lit, and safely reachable.
• Do not place a target near traffic, stairs, water, heat, heights, locked areas, or anywhere requiring unsafe movement.
• Choose movement repetitions suitable for your ability and available space. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or unsafe.
• Do not use the camera, NFC, or movement features while driving or operating machinery.
• Seek professional advice before physical challenges if you have a medical condition, injury, mobility limitation, or concern.

WalkAway stores alarm, challenge, history, and preference data locally as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not save or upload live camera footage, object photos, or microphone recordings. Object challenges do store derived numeric matching descriptors—not images—with the associated alarm.

Deleting an alarm removes that alarm's configuration but not its prior history. Clear All Data removes alarms and history and cancels their schedules, but currently retains theme, haptic, Strict Mode, and onboarding preferences. Resetting app storage through system settings or uninstalling removes the app container, subject to any separate device backup. Details are in the Data Deletion guide.

You are responsible for any loss caused by device loss, damage, reset, uninstall, unavailable backup, or operating-system change.

When you ask to share a QR target, the app generates a temporary PNG and opens the device share sheet. You choose the receiving app, person, printer, or storage destination and are responsible for that choice. Operating-system services—including Apple or Google speech recognition, notifications, alarms, backups, and sharing—are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

• Use WalkAway only lawfully and without harming, harassing, monitoring, or deceiving another person.
• Do not place targets on property without permission or configure alarms on another person's device without consent.
• Do not disrupt, overload, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the app or related distribution systems.
• Do not copy, resell, redistribute, or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use WalkAway for personal, non-commercial purposes. WalkAway's code, design, graphics, text, trademarks, and branding remain owned by CoreByte Studio or their respective licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WalkAway is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoreByte Studio and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed alarms, oversleeping, missed appointments, travel losses, or lost income arising from use of or inability to use WalkAway. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

We may update, replace, suspend, or discontinue features as the app evolves, and may update these Terms to reflect those changes or legal requirements. The revision date appears on this page. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required. You may stop using WalkAway at any time by uninstalling it. We may restrict use where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address abuse.

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the WalkAway provider operates, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning your use of WalkAway.
